Do you need planning approval for log cabin houses / homes?

Frequently asked questions:

Is planning approval required?

With smaller garden cabins under six hundred square feet, these are a semi permanent structure and are unlikely to need planning approval provided the roof is not greater than four metres at the apex. Every local authority has different rules though and your should check with your council before going ahead.

With any structure that you plan on living in, it is usual to require planning permission, but please call us to gain further advice.  We also have an article on garden annex planning permission (click here) written by garden annex planning consultants which goes into more information on the process and what is required.  We can handle the process of planning for you if required, using our specialist team - click here to tell us your requirements.
