Designer log home offices
When thinking of designing an office for home, don't
just think of the layout, think of the look and feel
and how it is going to be to work in. A log cabin office
using flat logs has the advantage that it can increase
the value of your property. I once spent £500
having a partition wall and secure door added to my
garage. Instead, I could have put this towards a nice
new log cabin in the garden which would have added to
the value of the house as a valuable extra outside space
and would have meant that I didn't reduce the usable
area of the garage.
A home office in the house has various disadvantages
when compared with the garden, click
here for more details. The overall idea of working
from an office at home is a good one however for many
people (click here

When designing the office, using a cabin gives you
more flexibility in the layout. Instead of being constricted
by the existing shape of the room that you select in
your house, you can make the space as you wish to have
it and even create more space than you need in case
of future requirements.
Think whether you wish to have internal partitions,
whether you wish to have the door glazed partially or
fully and also the layout and number of the windows.
Position of windows is important to give maximum natural
light to desk space but also might be important to position
properly to prevent strong sunlight falling on you or
colleagues on really sunny days. Windows positioned
at a side and front can give good throughput of air
when required. Consider also the height of the windows
from the ground when you put the windows in the structure,
as you have the choice of how high up the wall you have
them - think where the desk height is! Click
